Capacity Bulding

GIABA helps build capacity and enhance skills for a broad range of professionals and authorities across the Region.

Professionals from Financial Institutions (FIs), Designated Non-Financial Professions and Businesses (DNFPBs), the Media, members of Civil Society Organizations, other stakeholders and crime-fighting bodies, as well as legal practitioners, have benefited from GIABA training and sensitization efforts over the last few years. The learning gains have either increased their awareness of ML/TF issues, or equipped them with new skills in their daily work.

Capacity building and skills enhancement are delivered in training and sensitization workshops, seminars, face-to-face tutorials, and through videoconferencing technology, in cooperation with development partners.

GIABA has also made sizable intellectual contribution to the ongoing debate on how best to combat the increasing threat of drug trafficking in the Region.
