GIABA’s leadership has dedicated resources (grant) to advance stakeholders’ knowledge and conduct advocacy around the issue of assets recovery and management, to accelerate political will among the leaders, exert pressure on stakeholders, and mobilise public support for the subject matter, and for citizen to take ownership of the fight against money laundering in the region. This engagement will enhance the preventive measures that would result in a concrete outcome of increased asset recovery from those who have committed offences and are keeping the gains of their crimes.
Consequently, GIABA requires the services of active, recognized, and credible Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) that would partner in conducting massive advocacy, community engagements, sensitization programmes, mass mobilization, and focus groups that will drive actionable steps among the relevant stakeholders in the criminal justice change system. The body must be registered and possess the requisite knowledge and experience on the subject matter, and the necessary political capacity to engage relevant authorities.
