BENIN (2026) 5TH ENHANCED FOLLOW-UP REPORT
The Mutual Evaluation Report (MER) of Benin was discussed and adopted by the 35th Plenary meeting of the GIABA Technical Commission in May 2021. The last FUR with re-rating was adopted in May 2025. The country was scored low effectiveness of its AML/CFT system for the 11 immediate outcomes, with more than eight (8) Recommendations rated NC/PC. Thus, in line with the GIABA Processes and Procedures for the second round of mutual evaluation (August 2020), Benin was placed under the enhanced follow-up process.
This FUR analyses Benin's progress in meeting the Technical Compliance requirements set out in Recommendations 16, 24 and 25 under review. A Technical Compliance Re-rating is granted when sufficient progress has been made.
